We are a Volunteer Hospice

As a Volunteer Hospice, we are not reimbursed for our services. We exist solely by generous support from individual donors, businesses, foundations, and through state and federal grants.
With your support, Hospice of Anchorage can continue the important work of helping patients and their families prepare for, and live well with a serious life-limiting illness, dying, and grief. Through donations and volunteering, our community can maintain this circle of help, hope, and comfort. Please consider “making it monthly” by donating each month automatically.

Due to the generous support of our community, a few of our recent accomplishments we want to highlight are below.

Hospice of Anchorage

Spark of Joy – a weekly mailing/delivery program to our patients and their families. This program allowed us to collaborate with multiple small, local businesses to bring joy to our patients when Covid compromised our in-person visit.

Hospice of Anchorage

Hospice of Anchorage Resource Center – the pandemic allowed us to spend focused attention on renewing this long dreamed of project. The cornerstone of the Resource Center is our library. We have hundreds of books available to the community free of charge. Books are available in each of the following subjects: caregiving, child loss, children's grief, chronic illness, dementia, end of life, grief, and life review/after a death planning.

Hospice of Anchorage

Loan Closet – the DME needs of the community didn't stop because of Covid. Folks still needed wheelchairs, commodes, incontinence supplies, and more. With a new, curbside pick-up and drop-off, we could meet our community's immediate needs safely.

Hospice of Anchorage

Electronic Medical Record – say goodbye to paper charts. Generous support from the business community enabled us to shred our paper charts and move to our first-ever electronic case management program.

Navigating the Holidays – a well-loved tradition every November at Hospice of Anchorage is to partner with all the hospices in town and put on an event called "Navigating the Holidays," available for free to anyone in this community who wants a little help after having lost a loved one. This year we boxed up Navigating the Holidays and delivered it right to the homes of those in need.
